I think it's admirable that he told you where he stands now, rather than stringing you along and letting you get emotionally attached before making it clear that he's not into something serious. I can appreciate his honesty.

I still don't understand why he is the only one getting the blame. Still, I don't ever want to see him ever again anyway so I don't really care about it that much. He said the friend isn't welcome anyway, they all hate him because of what he did to the husband. It's not him that worries me. My husband had his mates round over the weekend while I was at work and I said he can have anyone round except the wife and friend as he knows how I feel about them.

Sex seems to always complicate things so this might be something to ease your mind if only a little bit. Regardless of anything, perhaps subscribing to the old "no sex before monogamy" rule if you haven't already.
