I liked him a lot and things were going great, until the last few weeks. I actually felt bad about it, even though I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong. This was my first red flag, but I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. He was really very sweet and made me feel really good at first. So, I have been dating this guy for a few months now and even though in the beginning I wasn’t seeing him as having long term potential I had been slowing coming around. First there was the incident where he asked how much money I made and then got upset and said it made him feel uncomfortable because I made twice as much as he did. After that I tried to avoid talking about my job and even let him pay for almost everything, because he suddenly felt insulted if I offered to pick up the bill for lunch.

This makes me feel even worse. On another forum I go on sometimes they're making him out to be awful, that he keeps in contact with the mums of his kids each day, that he goes in for a cup of tea when drops the kids off.

It's one thing for a person to have one or two old friends of the opposite sex that have withstood him being in other relationships, especially if they are in their own relationships and aren't demanding much time and attention from him and aren't focused on him and he's not focused on them either.

It's what I've always been told. If you're interested in a girl, ask her out then you'll see if she's interested. The guy should make the first move if he's interested.

if you can't compromise your standards to be able to tolerate such a behavior and she can't compromise to not do it anymore then you better end any serious plans for any possible future life between the 2 of you. do not force yourself to accept more than what you can handle, everyone's red lines are different. the compromise everyone talks about as must have in a successful relationship will be on test. if smoking pot with strangers in their car is beyond your tolerable red lines you should say something about it. otherwise if it pass the test, it could be an igniting test for a successful relationship. here will come a test to your relationship.
